The Lien Reduction Specialist will be responsible for negotiating reductions on medical liens and balances, working with attorneys, insurance companies, and third parties. This role requires strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to maintain detailed records of all correspondence and outcomes.

What will you be doing in this position?
- Negotiate reductions on medical liens and balances with attorneys, insurance companies, and other payors.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all negotiations and correspondence in patient files.
- Prepare and submit weekly reports summarizing the status and outcome of lien reduction efforts.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments and external law firms to ensure timely resolutions.
- Track follow-up items and ensure all parties are aligned on negotiated outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with legal and organizational policies throughout the negotiation process.
- Monitor aging balances and prioritize reduction efforts based on urgency.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
- Monitor reduced balances until payment has been confirmed.
What do we need from you?
- 1+ year of experience in personal injury, lien resolution, or medical billing (preferred).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Excel) and ability to learn case management systems quickly.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and secure handling of sensitive patient information.

Typical Work Day:
- Review and prioritize lien reduction cases assigned for negotiation.
- Conduct outreach to attorneys, insurance carriers, and other third parties to initiate negotiations.
- Document all correspondence and negotiation outcomes in the system.
- Track follow-up tasks and ensure all pending items are addressed.
- Prepare reports for management on lien reduction outcomes and pending cases.
