Part-Time Paralegal - Family Law

We are seeking a highly skilled remote paralegal to support one of the partners in the family law department. This position is ideal for a motivated legal professional with a strong background in family law who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at working independently.

What will you be doing in this position?

  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including petitions, responses, declarations, discovery requests/responses, and other pleadings.
  • Assist with case management, including organizing and maintaining client files.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, court hearings, and mediations.
  • Conduct legal research relevant to family law matters.
  • Communicate with clients regarding case status, required documents, and deadlines.
  • Prepare and review financial disclosures and discovery materials.
  • Manage and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
  • Support the attorney in trial preparation, including preparation of exhibits and trial binders.
  • Maintain case calendars and ensure timely submission of all filings.

What do we need from you?

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus in family law.
  • Strong knowledge of Florida family law procedures and court systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software.
  • Familiarity with Florida court e-filing systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.

Your typical workday and workweek

Typical Work Day

  • Review new client tasks and ongoing case developments.
  • Draft pleadings and correspondence.
  • Communicate with clients via email or scheduled virtual meetings.
  • Coordinate with courts and opposing counsel as needed.
  • Update legal files and manage case deadlines.

Typical Workweek

  • Approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Flexible hours with availability during standard business hours (EST Time) for scheduled meetings and time-sensitive tasks.
